What is Olbas Oil?

Olbas oil is an inhalant decongestant containing plant-derived oils and other active ingredients that can help relieve cold, flu, and hay fever symptoms such as nasal, bronchial, and sinus congestion, as well as catarrh (the build-up of mucus in the airways) and muscular pain.

How does Olbas Oil work?

Olbas oil works in two ways – by relieving nasal passages and sinuses upon inhalation, and by helping to relieve muscular pain and stiffness when applied topically onto the skin.

The oils in Olbas Oil, as well as the various menthol-based compounds in the product, combine to give off vapours and aromas that can help unlock nasal passages and sinuses.

Moreover, rubbing Olbas Oil onto the skin can help relieve muscular pain and stiffness because of the analgesic (pain-relieving) and anti-inflammatory properties of the oils in this product, including eucalyptus, peppermint, cajuput, and peppermint oil, among others.

How often can Olbas Oil be used in a day?

For adults and children 12 years and over, if using Olbas Oil as an inhalant, use two to three drops in the daytime and nighttime. To use Olbas Oil for muscular pain, gently apply to and massage the painful area three times daily.

How should Olbas Oil be stored?

Olbas oil should be stored below 25°C and out of the reach of children.
